Brick Oettinger has a rundown on the ACC recruiting classes after the fall signing period.  Duke’s and UNC’s classes are tops, but Wake and State did well also.

State got an early commitment from 7-0, 240 lb. big man Joseph Uchebo, currently at Oak Ridge.  It’s a gamble to an extent – he’s a sophomore and there’s no clue as to how good he’ll ultimately be.

Here’s a rundown on Duke’s fall signees, all of whom have sent in the paperwork.

Maryland gained a commitment from 6-8 power forward Ashton Pankey out of St. Anthony’s.  You know he’ll be well-trained.

Our impression of Harrison Barnes’ press conference was that it was a bit self-indulgent, and frankly, by the time he got around to Skype, we were already sick of it.

After a long buildup, Harrison Barnes took to the stage, praised everyone within earshot, walked past the envelopes on stage and skyped Roy Williams to tell him he was picking UNC.

We’ll have more on this later, but it’s hard to escape the feeling that it was just a bit over the top.

You can reasonably expect this to crash or lock up, but the Des Moine paper will cover the Harrison Barnes announcement live this afternoon.

The big day is here, and our advice? Relax. Take a walk.  If it’s not too early, enjoy an adult beverage if you must – in moderation!  Just don’t get too wound up about this.
