Matthew Laurance has been a friend of DBR for a long time now, so when he asked if he could say goodbye to Duke fans here, we were of course happy to let him do so. Like all Duke fans, we’ll miss him a great deal, but wish him nothing but the best in [...]

Here’s Bill Self’s explanation of his illegal contact with John Wall, which is somewhat at odds with the account we previously linked. You may remember that the reporter suggested that Self went out of his way to be in a position to speak to Wall. Self doesn’t see it that way.

With Red Auerbach gone, Bill Russell has in many respects become the face of the Celtics. We don’t know if this is a decision he consciously made, but it’s great to see him reassociating himself with the game and his team. Can the Celtics repeat? Well, says Russ, why not?

Arnie Schechter reminds us of the last time a really rough play happened between Duke and UNC in Chapel Hill, with very different reactions

Chris McHugh offers some thoughts on the ACC-Big Ten Challenge!

Chris McHugh joins us as a periodic guest columnist. Enjoy!
I attended the Coaches vs. Cancer first round last night, and Maryland’s performance certainly was a surprise. Ekene Ibekwe grabbed the headlines with 22 points and 14 boards, most of which came in the first half of a 92-60 romp over St. John’s. [...]

Alright, so I know that DBR has never been a huge fan of the NBA during the time that I’ve been a “loyal” reader of the site (I guess that corresponds exactly to the post-Jordan/Bulls era circa 98-99). I kind of understand that in some ways the NBA has been seen by alot of [...]

Hear ye, hear ye! Court is now in its final session for the 2005-06 college basketball season. Yep, it’s time to drop the gavel one more time for my final DBR CourtMaster column.
I like things that are symmetrical, so I thought I would wrap things up the way I started them back in [...]

Andrew Gerst is a current student at Duke, and current managing editor of Towerview. The opinions expressed here are his own.
I just wanted to take a few moments to respond to the outrageous
tone ESPN
has adopted in covering the Duke lacrosse scandal.
Judging from Greg Garber’s “Turbulent times for Duke and Durham”
(April 1,
2006), it seems clear [...]
