Duke women got back on the winning track with a nice game against Georgia Southern, winning 69-42. Jasmine Thomas led the way with 12 points.

Duke obviously lost a recruiting battle Friday, but recruiting rolls on, and Quincy Miller is on campus Monday and will be in the stands for the Coastal Carolina game. Show him some love, Crazies!

A number of you sent us this link from the Charlotte paper about the recruitment of Clair Watkins, who made a verbal commitment which the women’s program then rescinded. We don’t know the full details, and there are usually two sides to anything, but the story on its face is not flattering.

After winning two exhibitions and their first game by a total of 205 points, Duke got a bit of a shock at Texas A&M, as the Aggies prevailed 95-77 behind a big game from Danielle Adams, who is a huge presence in the post.

Duke was very impressive in their season debut against Alaska Anchorage, winning by 78, 100-32. It’s not much to go on, since Anchorage is hardly a power, but this comes after beating Winthrop in their previous exhibition, 99-31.

Duke kicked off the exhbition season against Wingate, and the women rolled, 99-31. Pretty good debut, all things considered.

A decade ago, Mike Krzyzewski got a commitment from Corey Magette out of Chicago’s Fenwick High. Now, ten years later, Coach P. has gotten a commitment from another Fenwick kid, 6-0 Tricia Liston. A rising senior, she says she’s always been intrigued by Duke.

Sports artist, and die-hard Duke fan, Jason Robichau is teaming up with the Emily K Center to raise funds for the Center.
