It's really early yet and a lot of things can happen, but the general sentiment, from Kentucky to the Triangle, is that Duke is about have (another) really good recruiting year.
Optimism abounds (well, not from Lexington, but that's understandable).
Latest example: the Fayetteville Observer, which seems to think Duke is in great shape with Gary Trent, Wendell Carter and Kevin Knox.
All three are highly regarded players. For those who may not know, the 6-10 Carter is an exceptionally bright guy with a Battier-type of charisma who is also considering Harvard.
Trent is a 6-5 shooting guard from Apple Valley, where Tyus Jones attended and where his brother Trae is Trent's backcourt mate.
Trent's dad is Gary Trent, Sr., a burly player who had a solid NBA career.
Knox is 6-8 and highly athletic.
Duke's also involved with a number of other elite players including point guard Quade Green and big man Mohamed Bamba.
Green, by the way, had a big outing at Peach Jam on Saturday.
