Duke's been on a major recruiting role for a few years now, but there are never any guarantees, as both Duke and Kentucky, both setting pace in recruiting lately, know.

Kentucky wanted Marques Bolden who picked Duke; a while back, Duke really felt positive about Harrison Barnes, who of course picked UNC.
So when you read that Wendell Carter JR. and Gary Trent Jr. "have been linked heavily to Duke," don't get too excited. And don't read too much into a triple package deal with Mohamed Bamba either.
Things can change quickly.
The cool thing about Carter and Bomba (we don't know about Gary yet) is that they're both academically oriented. They may not stay for four years, but they'll work on their degrees, much like Jahlil Okafor, who is in summer school, is doing as we write this.
Well, they are, but as Carter told USAToday, that's not all that will go into his decision:"Like I said, of course the academics and how I feel around the coaches and team is No. 1, but that’s a given. After that, the thing that most of us are looking at and remember is the girls, to be honest. Little things like that are like the icing on the cake. All about the little things."
