In the preseason there were a lot of questions about Duke's defense. Offense after all has been Duke's strength under David Cutcliffe. Defense has usually been good but not great.

Well this year, the defense is damned good.
ESPN's David Hale has Duke at fifth nationally.
Basically what's happening is partly coaching and partly getting superior talent, which, really, is the result of coaching.
David Cutcliffe sums it up like this: "It’s a conscious effort on our part to try and put speed on the field.With speed comes quickness. Quickness also lets you become explosive right at the point of attack."
