As you've probably noticed, Duke recruiting has been on a tear for a few years.
If you had to pick one variable and say that had the most to do with it, you might pick Jeff Capel.

Since Capel returned to Duke in 2011, Duke has signed Austin Rivers, Rasheed Sulaimon, Amile Jefferson, Jabari Parker, transfer Rodney Hood, Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor, Justise Winslow, Grayson Allen, Brandon Ingram, Derryck Thornton, Chase Jeter and Luke Kennard.
By any standard that's a hot streak, and we didn't list everyone Duke signed.
An awful lot of the credit goes to Capel, who has been a sensational recruiter.
So it's no great surprise that he's been linked to a lot of open jobs.
For now, though, Capel tells WRAL.com that he's happy right where he is:
"Was [turning down Arizona State] a tough decision? Yes and no. Yes, because I want to be a head coach again. I was flattered, I was intrigued. I was all of those things, to be wanted again. Four years ago, no one wanted me. And then it wasn't a tough decision because I didn't want to leave here. I just felt like it wasn't right...When I do leave, when I do become a head coach again, it's got to be the right fit for me. Everything has to align for what I'm looking for; for what my family and I are looking for."
