Jason Kidd-Nets Conflicts May End With Move To Milwaukee Where He'd Coach Jabari Parker

Happier times for Billy King and Jason Kidd - USA TODAY Sports

First-year coach wanted too much power, so the Nets gave him permission to find another job.

There's a thread now between former Duke defensive stud Billy King and Milwaukee's star rookie, Jabari Parker, and that's Jason Kidd.

After one season as a head coach, Kidd tried a power play which would have placed him over his G.M. King. That didn't go over well with anyone, including owner Mikhail Prokhorov, and Kidd now has permission to talk to the Bucks, where one of the new owners, Marc Lasry, previously a minority owner with the Nets, is a good friend.

Over the years, Kidd has definitely had some issues. There was a conflict when he was with Dallas with Jimmy Jackson and Jamal Mashburn which led to Dallas trading him.

He also had a situation earlier this year with former assistant Lawrence Frank, who was reassigned after the conflict.

Presumably if Milwaukee - where Larry Drew, hired just one year ago, is still the coach - fails to hire him, the Nets will have a tough choice to make.

For Jabari Parker, who is not yet hardened to the NBA life, it's bound to be an interesting lesson.
