Now, with Louisville set to join in a few days, the story is obviously relevant - and Lexington columnist Mark Story sounds a bit wistful it didn't happen.
It would have been interesting in a lot of ways. Obviously having Duke, UNC and Kentucky in the same conference would have been incredible, but it would also have been interesting to see Kentucky in a truly competitive conference.
